Chicago Shakespeare Theater Extends Follies Through November 13

Chicago Shakespeare Theater has extended Stephen Sondheim and James Goldman’s Follies through Sunday, November 13. Gary Griffin has directed the production

In the musical, when former members of the “Weismann Follies” reunite on the eve of their theater’s demolition, two couples remember their past and face the harsher realities of the present. Reminiscing of their younger selves and the years gone by, the crumbling theater brings back memories for both couples of good times and bad.

The company stars Brent Barrett as Benjamin Stone, Caroline O’Connor as Phyllis Rogers Stone, Robert Petkoff as Buddy Durant, Susan Moniz as Sally Plummer Durant, and Hollis Resnik as Carlotta Campion.

The cast also features Mike Nussbaum as Dmitri Weismann, Nancy Voigts as Stella Deems, Marilynn Bogetich, as Hattie Walker, Kathy Taylor as Solange LaFitte. Dennis Kelly and Ami Silvestre as Theodore and Emily Whitman, Linda Stephens as Heidi Schiller, Adrian Aguilar as Young Ben, Bill Chamberlain as Roscoe, Rachel Cantor as Young Phyllis, L.R. Davidson as Young Sally, David Elliott as Max Deems, Andrew Keltz as Young Buddy, Amanda Kroiss as Young Solange, Christina Myers as Young Stella, Kari Sorenson as Young Heidi, Amanda Tanguay as Young Carlotta, and Jen Donohoo, Jenny Guse, Devin Archer, Julius C. Carter, Rhett Guter, Nate Lewellyn and Tanner Smale.

The creative team includes Brad Haak (musical director), Kevin Depinet (sets), Virgil Johnson (costumes), Christine Binder (lighting), Alex Sanchez (choreography), Joshua Horvath and Ray Nardelli (sound design).
