Goodman Theatre will present a free series of script-in-hand staged readings of playwright Noah Haidle’s three new works in progress, which are part of a larger cycle named Local Time — twelve two-act plays that trace a 24-hour period in the life of a town. Together with directors Dexter Bullard, Henry Wishcamper and Chuck Smith, Haidle develops the cycle’s first three plays on three separate evenings.

On November 18 at 7 pm, Bullard will direct Local Time: 5-7 AM, in which
a young couple discovers an unusual newborn on their doorstep, who grows at an alarmingly fast rate.

On November 24 at 7 pm, Wishcamper will direct Local Time: 7-9 AM, in which a playful narrator provides unexpectedly illuminating commentary on an unusual family’s usual morning routine.

On December 1 at 7 pm, Smith will direct Local Time: 9-11 AM, an evocative comedy set in a graveyard that follows a father and son grave-digging team named Dig and Digger.
