Chicago Set to Return to Chicago for Limited Engagement

The Tony Award winning John Kander-Fred Ebb-Bob Fosse musical, Chicago is set to return to the city of Chicago for a limited engagement at the Oriental Theater in the Ford Center for the Performing Arts, February 24-March 1, 2009. Walter Bobbie will direct.

Chicago is the story of Roxie Hart, a housewife and nightclub dancer who murders her on-the-side lover after he threatens to walk out on her. To avoid conviction, she dupes the public, the media and her rival cellmate, Velma Kelly, by hiring Billy Flynn who transforms her malicious crime. Casting will be announced at a later date.

The creative team includes John Lee Beatty (set design), Ken Billington (lighting design), Ralph Burns (orchestrations), Scott Lehrer (sound design), and William Ivey Long (costume design), Ann Reinking (choreography).
