Two-time Tony Award-winner Norbert Leo Butz will star in the pre-Broadway world premiere production of Andrew Lippa and John August's musical Big Fish, to run April 2-May 5 at Chicago's Oriental Theatre. Five-time Tony Award-winner Susan Stroman directs and choreographs the production.

Based on the novel by Daniel Wallace and the 2003 Columbia Pictures film, Big Fish centers on Edward Bloom (Butz), a charismatic man with a mind for stories of big adventures. When Bloom's final chapter approaches, his son, Will, frequently frustrated by his father's stories, embarks on his own journey to find out who is father truly is.

The musical is produced by Dan Jinks and Bruce Cohen. Additional information about the production will be announced in the future.

Butz won Tony Awards for his work in Catch Me If You Can and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. He will be starring in the upcoming Broadway production of Theresa Rebeck's Dead Accounts.

Stroman's Broadway credits include The Scottsboro Boys, Young Frankenstein, The Producers, Contact, Crazy For You, and many more. Lippa wrote the music and lyrics for The Addams Family, The Wild Party, and others. August received a 2004 BAFTA nomination for his screenplay for the film version of Big Fish.
