Writers Theatre has announced that the Midwest premiere of Isaac's Eye by Lucas Hnath will open its 2014-15 season, with a September 2-December 7 run. Artistic Director Michael Halberstam will direct.

In Isaac's Eye Hnath reimagines Newton's world as he introduces young Newton to the great Robert Hooke, the most famous and powerful scientist in Britain. The resulting battle of intellects and egos uncovers and invents the motivations that drove a farm boy to become one of the greatest thinkers in human history.
The cast will feature LaShawn Banks, Marc Grapey, Jürgen Hooper, and Elizabeth Ledo.

The design team includes Collette Pollard (scenic designer), Jenny Mannis (costume designer), Keith Parham (lighting designer), Mikhail Fiksel (sound designer), and D.J. Reed (props designer).

Writers Theatre plays to a sold-out audience of 35,000 patrons each season and has garnered critical praise for their interpretations of classic and contemporary theater in two intimate venues. Writers Theatre's work includes Artistic Director Michael Halberstam's world premiere in Glencoe and subsequent productions of A Minister’s Wife at Lincoln Center Theater and more.
