F. Murray Abraham, Carrie Fisher, Alice Ripley et al. Set for Broadway in Chicago’s Spring Season

Broadway in Chicago has announced the productions that will comprise its 2011 spring season, which as previously announced, will include an engagement of the national tour of Burn the Floor, to run February 1-13 at the Bank of America Theatre.

The lineup will also include the 25th anniversary production of Les Miserables (February 2-27, Cadillac Palace Theatre), the musical Working (February 15-May 8, Broadway Playhouse), the national tour of Hair (March 8-20, Ford Center for the Performing Arts, Oriental Theatre), Theatre for a New Audience’s production of The Merchant of Venice, starring F. Murray Abraham (March 15-27, Bank of America Theatre), Carrie Fisher’s solo show Wishful Drinking (April 5-27, Bank of America Theatre), and the Pultizer Prize-winning Next to Normal (April 26 – May 8, Bank of America Theatre), starring Alice Ripley.

In addition to these productions, which are part of a subscription series for theatergoers, the season will include Rain: A Tribute to the Beatles (February 8-13), a return engagement of the musical Spring Awakening (May 3-8, Ford Center for the Performing Arts, Oriental Theatre), and Disney’s Beauty and the Beast (June 28 – July 10, Ford Center for the Performing Arts, Oriental Theatre).
