Northlight Theatre has announced preliminary casting for its productions of Paula Vogel’s A Civil War Christmas: An American Musical Celebration (November 11 – December 19) and Danai Gurira’s Eclipsed (January 13 – February 20).

Henry Godinez will direct Vogel’s portrait of a wide spectrum of people celebrating the holidays just before the end of the Civil War. The company will feature Felicia P. Fields, Paula Scrofano, Derek Hasenstab, David Girolmo, Kevin Douglas, Alex Goodrich, James Earl Jones II, Mildred Marie Langford, Bethany Jorgenson, and Will Clinger. Two roles are yet to be cast.

Gurira’s play, set in 2003, explores consequences and fallout of Liberia’s civil war for the “wives” of a rebel commanding officer from a community in a hostile war zone and will be directed by Hallie Gordon. The company will include Alana Arenas, Paige Collins, Tamberla Perry, Leslie Ann Sheppard, and Penelope Walker.

As previously announced, the Northlight season will open with Paul Gordon’s Daddy Long Legs (September 16 – October 24). John Caird will direct the production, which will star Megan McGinnis and Robert Adelman Hancock.
