Chicago Premiere of Mark Hollmann and Greg Kotis’s Yeast Nation Sets Cast, Creative Team

Full cast and creative team information has been announced for American Theater Company‘s production of Mark Hollmann and Greg Kotis’ Yeast Nation (the triumph of life), September 10-October 18. PJ Paparelli will direct this Chicago premiere.

The musical, from the creators of Urinetown, is set in 3,000,458,000 B.C. and involves a colony of salt-eating yeasts and the single-celled dreamer that starts an evolutionary chain reaction. The production will feature Gary Houston, Andrew Keltz, Melanie Brezill, Sandie Rosa, Barbara Robertson, Phil Ridarelli, Wendi Weber, Bernie Balbot, Govind Kumar, Trista Smith, Bethany Thomas, Bil Ingraham, Robert Gerdisch, Briana de Giulio, and Stephanie Kim.

The creative team will include choreographer Tommy Rapley, musical director Mark Elliott, scenic designer Walt Spangler, costume designer Paul Spadone, lighting designer Jesse Klug, and sound designer Lindsay Jones.
