New Leaf Theatre has announced the line up for its 2008-2009 season, which will include a world premiere production devised by the New Leaf Theatre Company.

The season will open with the Chicago Premiere of Six Years by Sharr White, October 8-November 22, directed by Jessica Hitchinson. Originally presented at the 2006 Humana Festival, the play examines how our nation, and our families hold together through the push and pull of progress.

The winter will see Touch, Toni Press-Coffman’s story of a reserved young astronomer, in love with the night sky, whose life gets turned upside-down. Hutchinson will direct, and production dates will be announced at a later date. Finally, the world premiere of The Long Count will open in the spring of 2009. Currently in development, New Leaf Theater Company’s new work will explore the uncertainties facing the world we live in. Production dates have yet to be announced.
