Marriott Theatre Announces 2009 Season

The Marriott Theatre has announced the production schedule for its 2009 season.

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, the Andrew Lloyd Webber-Tim Rice musical about the Biblical life of Joseph, will open the season, February 18-May 10; The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, May 13-July 19, will bring the Tony Award-winning musical about adolescent outsiders vying for the spelling championship of a lifetime; and The Light in the Piazza with follow, July 22-September 20, when Margaret Johnson brings her daughter to revisit the site of her honeymoon, only to find that her daughter quickly falls in love with a young Italian man.

Hairspray will play September 23-December 6, with the story of plump teen, Tracy Turnblad, who will do whatever it takes to appear on the popular Corny Collins show and win the heart of Link Larkin; and the season will close with My Fair Lady, which will open December 9 and right through February 14, 2010.
