Mandy Patinkin et al. Set for Centre East 2008-2009 Season

Tony Award-winner Mandy Patinkin will return to the Centre East stage as part of the theater’s 2008-2009 season.

The season will open with Dudu Fisher’s Jerusalem, October 25, followed by Rob Becker’s long running show, Defending the Caveman, November 1, and Comedy Central regular Susie Essman in her Centre East debut, November 15. The Civic Ballet of Chicago will present The Nutcracker, December 13-14; Mandy Patinkin in Concert, December 27, will bring the Tony and Emmy Award-winner’s interpretation of popular standards with Paul Ford on Piano; and the Elvis Birthday Tribute will open the new year, January 8, starring Shawn Klush, the first winner of Elvis Presley Enterprises’ Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist. Additional artists will be announced at a later date.

Other season performances include the Capitol Steps (January 22-25), Giordano Jazz Dance Chicago (February 14), I Love You, You’re Perfect…Now Change (February 21), School House Rock Live! (February 28), Get Back! The Cast of Beatlemania (March 14), River North Chicago Dance Company (April 18), Junie B. Jones (April 19), Jackie Mason (April 21-23), and The Rat Pack is Back (May 9).
