Full Cast Announced for Dirty Dancing

Complete casting has been announced for the musical Dirty Dancing – The Classic Story on Stage, based on the hit 1987 film, which will make its U.S. premiere at Chicago’s Cadillac Palace Theatre, September 28-December 7, before making national tour stops in Los Angeles and Boston.

The musical is penned by Eleanor Bergstein, the film’s screenwriter, and directed by James Powell, with choreography by Kate Champion. It tells the story of Frances “Baby” Houseman, a doctor’s daughter, who falls for Johnny Castle, a talented, headstrong dancer from the wrong side of the tracks.

As previously reported, Josef Brown will play Johnny, Amanda Leigh Cobb will play “Baby,” and Britta Lazenga will play Penny. The cast will also include Ben Mingay as Billy, John Bolger as Dr. Jake Houseman, Kaitlin Hopkins as Marjorie, Katlyn Carlson as Lisa, Molly C. Callinan as Vivian, Joseph Costa as Mr. Schumacher, Jonathan Epstein as Max Kellerman, Ryan Farrell as Robbie, Michael Howell as Tito Suarez, Lauren Klein as Mrs. Schumacher, Michael Lluberes as Stan, Gary Lynch as Moe Pressman, and Michael Zahler as Neil Kellerman.

The ensemble includes John Antony, Timothy Bish, Thea Brooks, Karen Burthwright, Theresa Coombe, E. Clayton Cornelious, Jean Michel Erole, Ashley Blair Fitzgerald, Hayley Henderson-Smith, Darina Jeleva, Travis Kelley, Charlie Logan, Lauralyn McClelland, Erich McMillan-McCall, Samuel Pergande, Andrew Pirozzi, Sarah Skogland, W. Easton Smith, Billy Harrigan Tighe, Aspen Vincent, Tony Vincent, Emily J. Williams, and Candice Woods.

The show’s creative team includes Stephen Brimson Lewis (sets), Jennifer Irwin (costumes), Tim Mitchell (lighting), Bobby Aitken (sound), Jon Driscoll (videos and projections), Craig Wilson (Latin and Ballroom dance choreography), and Conrad Helfich (musical supervision).
