Sandra Delgado to Star in Tanya Saracho’s Mango Street at Steppenwolf for Young Adults

Sandra Delgado is set to star in the Steppenwolf for Young Adults production of Tanya Saracho’s Mango Street, October 13-November 1. The piece is adapted from the Sandra Cisneros novel, The House on Mango Street, and will be directed by Hallie Gordon in the theater’s Upstairs space.

Mango Street is a classic coming-of-age story centered around Esperanza Cordero (Delgado), who dreams of a new life far away from her tiny home on rundown Mango Street in one of Chicago’s Latino neighborhoods. The cast will also feature Belinda Cervantes, Gina Cornejo, Liza Fernandez, Ricardo Gutierrez, Christina Nieves, Tonya Sancho, and Mari Stratton.

The creative team will include Collette Pollard (set design), Christine Pascual (costume design), J.R. Lederle (lighting design), Tamara Roberts (original music composition), and Victoria Delorio (sound design).
