Ruckus Theater Announces 2009-2010 Season

Ruckus Theater has announced their 2009-2010 season, featuring three world premiere productions from company members, set to play at The Side Project.

The season will open with Mitch Vermeersch’s Heist Play, August 16-26, a black comedy that deconstructs the film noir formula and turns archetypes inside out with Allison Shoemaker at the helm. Tell It & Speak It & Think It & Breathe It will follow in November, built with pieces from writers across the country inspired by great lyrics. Ryan Dolley’s LINEAR A, to be presented May 2010, asks what happens when superheroes choose to run, and what comes next when those being chased decide to stop. Shoemaker will direct.

In addition to the season, Ruckus Theater will also workshop two more works, including Dolley’s Joshua’s Play, March 2010, in collaboration with Filament Theatre, and 11-Detroit, June 2010, created by the company.
