Chicago's Writers Theatre in Glencoe has extended its world premiere production of Days Like Today, a new musical inspired by the plays of author Charles L. Mee, through July 27. The production, which features a book by Laura Eason and music and lyrics by Alan Schmuckler, began performances May 6. The musical was previously scheduled to close on July 13.

Days Like Today follows Tessa (Emily Berman), a young woman who must reconsider her ideas of love after meeting a handsome young stranger. The company also features Susie McMonagle (Maria), Will Mobley (James), Jeff Parker (Francois), Stephen Schellhardt (Edmund), Jonathan Weir (Frank), and Jarrod Zimmerman (Arnaud). Michael Halmerstam directs, with Doug Peck serving as musical director and Tommy Rapley as choreographer.

The design team includes Scott Bradley (scenic designer), Jenny Mannis (costume designer), Jesse Klug (lighting Designer), Palmer Jankens (sound designer), Julie Eberhardt (props designer).
