St. Charles Summer Theater Festival Programming Announced

The second annual St. Charles Summer Theater Festival, which will run on weekends July 6-22, has announced its programming plans.

The festival will feature concerts, dramas, new play-readings, and interactive art demonstrations. Highlights include Fox Valley Repertory’s presentation of the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical revue Some Enchanted Evening (July 6-22), featuring talent from Theo Ubique Cabaret Theatre and Steel Beam Theatre hosting a staged reading of screenwriter and Hollywood actress Beth Raines’ new screenplay The Awakening Time (July 13-15).

Offerings for children will include Seussical Jr. (July 20-22) at Steel Beam stage, Disney’s High School Musical (July 21) at Fox Valley Rep, and Into The Woods Jr. (July 6-8) performed by the Children’s Ensemble at Arcada Theatre.

In addition, Fox Valley Rep’s Collider New Play Project will bring together playwrights from around the country and scientists from Fermilab to create and present staged readings of three new plays that explore art, technology, science, and the meaning of life.
