Chicago Shakespeare Theater to Present Chicago Shakespeare in the Parks

This summer, Chicago Shakespeare Theater will begin a new initiative called Chicago Shakespeare in the Parks, presenting free productions of the Bard’s work in community parks across the city.

From July 29-August 19, the organization will present a 75-minute production of The Taming of the Shrew, performed by a company of professional actors on a specially-equipped truck that will unfold into a stage in each park. The performances are scheduled rain or shine.

The program is made possible by a grant from The Boeing Company, with additional support from BMO Harris Bank, the Sara Lee Foundation and the Chicago Shakespeare Trust.
