Lili-Anne Brown Appointed Artistic Director of Bailiwick Chicago
Lili-Anne Brown has been named the new artistic director of Bailiwick Chicago. She replaces founding artistic director Kevin Mayes, who has resigned due to recent career opportunities and will remain a seated board member in a corporate development capacity.
Brown is an actress who, as previously reported, will play Joanne in the forthcoming production of Rent at American Theatre Company. Among her other credits are appearances with Steppenwolf Theatre, Chicago Shakespeare Theatre, Writers’ Theatre, Next Theatre, Ravinia Festival, ShawChicago, and Drury Lane Oakbrook & Water Tower, among others.
As a director, Brown staged Passing Strange for Bailiwick Chicago; as well as Sweet Charity, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee; and Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story for Timber Lake Playhouse, where she is an Artistic Associate.
