Blind African-American poet and playwright Lynn Manning will present the Midwest premiere of his solo show, Quiet As It’s Kept at the Victory Gardens Biograph Theater, May 3 at 7:30 pm.

Presented as part of Victory Gardens’ Crip Slam series, the autobiographical work looks at Manning’s past, growing up in foster homes in the late 1960s and early 1970s through to the first match in his first ever judo tournament.

Manning is an award winning poet, playwright, actor, Paralympic Silver-medalist, and former World Champion of blind judo. He is also the author of the play Shoot and the solo, Weights.
