Full Cast, Creative Team Set for The Lion in Winter at Writers’ Theatre

Writers’ Theatre will present James Goldman’s The Lion in Winter, directed by Rick Snyder. The production runs May 27-August 3 with a June 4 opening.

Themes of mortality, romance, power and politics collide around Christmas in England, 1183, when the aging monarch, Henry II, brings his wife Queen Eleanor out of exile in order to discuss his plans for succession.

The cast will feature Rob Belushi, Michael Canavan, Shannon Cochran, Lea Coco, Laura Coover, Michael Fagin, and Christopher McLinden. The creative team will include J.R. Lederle (lighting design), Jack Magaw (set design), Josh Schmidt (sound design), and Nan Zabriskie (costume design).
