Broadway in Chicago Announces 2009 Season

Broadway In Chicago has announced the selections for its 2009 Broadway In Chicago season series, which will kick off with the new national tour of Grease, January 6-18, followed by Chazz Palminteri’s semi-autobiographical solo A Bronx Tale (March 9-22), directed by four-time Tony Award winner Jerry Zaks.

As previously announced, the national tour of the Disney musical Mary Poppins will launch in Chicago, beginning March 11. The groundbreaking musical A Chorus Line will then play April 14-May 3.

In January, Xanadu will roller skate its way to Chicago, with a score including such hits as “Evil Woman,” “Magic,” “Have You Never Been Mellow” and the title tune.

Not included in the subscription season are the Tony Award-winning Monty Python’s Spamalot which will return to Chicago January 20-February 1, and RAIN: The Beatles Experience, March 3-8, which will allow audiences to see what BeatleMania was all about.
