Mat Fraser to Perform From Freak to Clique at Victory Gardens in April

Mat Fraser will offer a one-night-only performance of his solo show From Freak to Clique in the Zacek-McVay Theater at the Victory Gardens Biograph on Sunday, April 10, 2011 at 7:30pm. The piece is being presented as part of Crip Slam, a component of Victory Gardens Access Project.

In his show, Fraser irreverently charts the history of portrayals of disability on stage, screen, in music, sports and real life, including in his own career. The piece features the original shaving act from freak show performer Sealo the Sealboy, as well as striptease, song and poetry.

Fraser’s work has been seen in in Dublin, Toronto, and throughout the U.K., including London’s Victoria & Albert Museum. He performed Seal Boy Freak at Victory Gardens Theater in 2006.
