David Cromer to Direct Matt Hawkins, Natasha Lowe, et al. in A Streetcar Named Desire

Casting has been announced for the revival of Tennessee Williams’ A Streetcar Named Desire, to run May 4 – July 11 at the Writers’ Theatre in Glencoe, IL. David Cromer will direct the production.

The company will feature Natasha Lowe (Blanche), Matt Hawkins (Stanley), Danny McCarthy (Mitch), Jenn Engstrom (Eunice), Loren Lazarine (Steve), Esteban Andres Cruz (Pablo), Stacy Stoltz (Stella), Carolyn E. Nelson (Colored Woman/Matron), Derek Hasenstab (Doctor), and Ryan Hallahan (Young Collector).

Cromer received an Obie Award for his direction of Our Town and the production was also awarded 2009 Lucille Lortels for Outstanding Play Revival and Direction. Cromer made his Broadway directing debut with Neil Simon’s Brighton Beach Memoirs, and has been announced to direct an upcoming Broadway revival of William Inge’s Picnic.
