Caryl Churchill’s Seven Jewish Children to Get Chicago Production

Caryl Churchill’s controversial ten-minute play, Seven Jewish Children: A Play for Gaza, will be presented by Chicago’s ROOMS Productions, March 12-14. Andrew Manley will direct.

The play is billed as “a history of Israel” that ends with the bombing of Gaza, and received its world premiere at The Royal Court Theatre in London last month. Manley’s production will transform each scene into a looped performance that will run continuously from 7pm until 10 pm each night.

Performances are free, but donations will be accepted on behalf of Medical Aid for Palestinians, a British charity that operates in the West Bank, Gaza Strip, and Lebanon.
