Old Jews Telling Jokes to Move to Chicago This Fall

The off-Broadway hit will play a limited engagement at the Royal George Theatre.

Peter Gethers and Daniel Okrent's Old Jews Telling Jokes, which has been playing off-Broadway since May 1, 2012, has announced that it will play a limited engagement at Chicago's Royal George Theatre this fall. Marc Bruni (Roundabout's Ordinary Days) directs the production, which will begin performances on September 24, has an official opening on October 2, and will close on November 24.

Old Jews Telling Jokes showcases five actors who pay tribute to and reinvent classic jokes. It also includes new and old comic songs as well as tributes to, the website that inspired the show.

Casting for the Chicago production will be announced shortly.

The show's creative team includes David Gallo (set and video design), Jeff Croiter (lighting design), Alejo Vietti (costume design), Richard Fitzgerald/Sound Associates (sound design), and Adam Wachter (musical supervision and arrangements).
