Lance Baker to Perform Mike Daisey’s The Agony and The Ecstasy of Steve Jobs at Red Orchid

Lance Baker will offer a one-night-only performance of Mike Daisey’s monologue, The Agony and The Ecstasy of Steve Jobs on Monday, March 5 at 8pm at A Red Orchid Theatre. The event will as a fundraiser for the company’s ongoing work.

As previously reported, Daisey has recently released the monologue for royalty free performance. It focuses on the trip that the narrator, a self-professed “worshipper in the cult of Mac,” takes to China to see for himself how his favorite the electronic products are manufactured, and finds that the world’s thirst for the newest gadgets has far-reaching implications.

Baker is A Red Orchid Theatre ensemble member. Among his credits with the company are appearances in Becky Shaw, The Mandrake, Hunger and Thirst, and The Grey Zone, as well as directing the world premiere of Brett Neveu’s The Earl and co-directing A Very Merry Unauthorized Scientology Pageant.
