Harry Groener, Ora Jones Set for Chicago Shakespeare’s The Madness of George III

Three-time Tony Award nominee Harry Groener will play the title role in Alan Bennett’s The Madness of George III, to run April 13 – June 12 at Chicago Shakespeare Theatre. Penny Metropulos will direct the production.

The play centers on the intrigue that surrounds the British monarch’s slide into insanity and the love of his devoted wife. The company will also feature Ora Jones as George’s queen, Charlotte.

Groener received Tony Award nominations for his performances in Oklahoma!, Cats, and Crazy for You. Among his other stage credits are Monty Python’s Spamalot, Imaginary Friends, Sleight of Hand, and Sunday in the Park with George on Broadway, and most recently the title role in King Lear at the Antaeus Company in California and The Train Driver at Long Wharf Theatre.
