Alice Ripley will make her Midwest concert debut in Daily Practice: The Acoustic Sessions, at the newly revamped Stage 773 Theatre in Chicago, on May 2.

Ripley is currently performing in the national tour of Next to Normal in the role of Diana, for which she won a Tony Award for the Broadway production. Her other Broadway credits include The Who’s Tommy, Sunset Boulevard, King David, Les Miserables and The Rocky Horror Show. Her first solo album, Everything’s Fine, was released in 2001 on Sh-K-Boom Records, and her new album, Daily Practice Volume 1 was just released from the same label.

The acoustic album features Ripley covering some of the most storied rock songs of years past, from Bruce Springsteen’s “Thunder Road” to U2’s “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For” to Alanis Morrisette’s “You Oughta Know.”
