Playwright Brett C. Leonard and director Philip Seymour Hoffman will talk about the process of bringing the world premiere production of Leonard’s The Long Red Road to the Goodman Theatre, as part of the theater’s Artists Talk Series, to be held at the Goodman on February 15, at 6pm. Steve Edwards will moderate the discussion.

Olivier Award nominee Tom Hardy stars as Sammy in this play that focuses on a man trying to forget his role in a tragic accident. The cast also includes Marcos Akiaten (Clifton), Greta Honold (Annie), Chris McGarry (Bob), Fiona Robert (Tasha), and Kathleen Sullivan (Sandra). As recently announced, the show has extended its run through March 21.

Leonard’s other plays include Unconditional, Guinea Pig Solo, Roger and Vanessa, and Scotch and Water. Hoffman, while best known as an Academy Award-winning film and stage actor, has directed a number of plays, including The Little Flower of East Orange, The Last Days of Judas Iscariot, Our Lady of 121st Street, Jesus Hopped the ‘A’ Train, In Arabia, We’d All Be Kings, and The Glory of Living. He made his feature directorial debut with the film of Jack Goes Boating, which he also stars in.
