Cast and creative team information has been announced for Lifeline Theatre’s adaptation of Dorothy L. Sayers’ Busman’s Honeymoon, to be presented May 1-June 21, with an official opening of May 11. Paul S. Holmquist will direct.

Adapted by Lifeline ensemble member Frances Limoncelli, this farce centers around amateur sleuth Lord Peter Wimsey and novelist Harriet Vane who are trying to enjoy their honeymoon amid eccentric locals, exploding chimneys, and a body found in the wine cellar.

The cast will star Peter Greenberg as Lord Peter Wimsey, Jenifer Tyler as Harriet Vane; feature Ensemble members James E. Grote (Mr. Puffet), Robert Kauzlaric (Frank Crutchley), Phil Timberlake (Bunter); and guest artists Adam Breske (Constable Sellon), Kate Harris (Miss Twitterton), Millicent Hurley (Mrs. Ruddle), Paul Myers (Rev. Goodacre), Will Schutz (Superintendent Kirk), and Christopher M. Walsh (Mr. MacBride).

The creative team will include Mary Griswold (scenic design), Brett Masteller (sound design), Joanna Melville (costume design), and Seth Reinick (lighting design).

In related news, Lifeline will host a benefit, Mystery3 (“Mystery Cubed”), which will feature Chicago mystery writers Sara Paretsky, Sean Chercover, and Julie Hyzy at the Chicago Cultural Center on Thursday, April 16 at 6:30pm. The writers will be on hand to meet fans and sign copies of their books. There will also be a performance of a classic Dorothy L. Sayer short story by the Lifeline Ensemble, featuring three new endings for this Lord Peter Wimsey mystery penned by Paretsky, Chercover, and Hyzy, each in their own signature styles.
