ATC to Present Midwest Premiere of Karam’s Speech & Debate in April
American Theater Company will present the Midwest premiere of Stephen Karam’s Speech & Debate as the final production of its 2007-2008 Season, April 16-May 11, with an opening set for April 20. ATC Artistic Director PJ Paparelli will direct.
Currently in its second extension at New York’s Roundabout Theatre, Speech & Debate concerns three teenage misfits in Salem, Oregon, who reluctantly form their school’s first speech and debate team after discovering they are all linked by a sex scandal at their school.
Karam’s other works include columbinus, Emma, Mister Murdery, and The Principal and the Pee.
