James Franco Hits the Chopping Block During Steppenwolf's Late Night @ Garage Rep Series

”Bring Me the Head of James Franco, That I May Prepare a Savory Goulash in the Narrow and Misshapen Pot of His Skull” is the title of one of the Chicago theater’s late-night offerings this spring.

Steppenwolf Theatre Company has announced the lineup for its 2014 Late Nite @ Garage Rep series, with performances of controversial, cross-genre productions taking place Thursday nights beginning March 6.

On March 20, Young Chicago Authors presents The 'Go Live: A New School Variety Show, hosted by Kevin Coval. Then on March 27, James Anthony Zoccoli will appeat in Wiggerlover [whiteboy blackdad=greyareas], a true story of one boy's life in an interracial family in Chicago 1979.

The following month, writer/performer Ian Belknap will bring his one-man comedy Bring Me the Head of James Franco, That I May Prepare a Savory Goulash in the Narrow and Misshapen Pot of His Skull to the Garage Theater for a performance on April 3. The Gift Theatre's improv group, Natural Gas, will then offer a performance on April 10, followed by an April 17 performance of Follow the Reader, presented by Chicago Dance Crash.

Late Night @ Garage Rep performances will be held in the Garage Theater at 11pm following the Thursday evening Garage Rep performances.
