National Pastime Theatre Announces 2012 Season

By Chicago
National Pastime Theater has announced its 2012 season, the first that it will offer in its new home at the Preston Bradley Center.

The season will open in the spring with Michael Sokoloff's A Bend in the Roadway, which explores American western expansion. Laurence Bryan will direct the production.

In addition, the theater will offers its fourth annual Naked July: Art Stripped Down, a festival of both classic and new work that celebrates the human body over the summer. This year's centerpiece production for the event will be Jose Rivera's References to Salvador Dali Make Me Hot, directed by Keely Haddad-Null. Additional programming will be announced in the near future.

The NPT 2012 season will conclude in December with Terry Abrahamson's Hannukatz The Musical, an irreverent, interactive theater event for the holiday season.

In addition to these offerings, the theater will offer a one-night only The Beginning of the Big Time, a speakeasy-style Jazz Benefit, featuring Fred Barr's Organ-ized Sound, on February 14.
