Million Dollar Quartet Original Cast Recording Now Available

The original cast recording of Million Dollar Quartet, now playing at Chicago’s Apollo Theater and scheduled to begin previews at the Nederlander Theatre on March 13, is now available. The 21-track disc features the original Chicago company of the show including Eddie Clendening as Elvis Presley, Lance Guest as Johnny Cash, Levi Kreis as Jerry Lee Lewis, and Rob Lyons as Carl Perkins.

The show was inspired by the famed 1956 recording session that brought together four of the most legendary figures in the history of rock ‘n’ roll — Cash, Lewis, Perkins, and Presley. The musical and the recording feature numerous hits from these artists, including “Blue Suede Shoes,” “Fever,” “Sixteen Tons,” “Who Do You Love?,” “Great Balls of Fire,” “Riders in the Sky,” “I Walk the Line,” “Folsom Prison Blues,” and “Whole Lotta’ Shakin’ Goin’ On.”

Million Dollar Quartet has a book by Colin Escott and Floyd Mutrux and features direction by Eric Schaeffer. The show’s musical director, Grammy Award nominee Chuck Mead, along with Hank Neuberger, has produced the disc, which is currently available for purchase online and at the Apollo Theater in Chicago.
