Chitty Chitty Bang Bang Tour Cancels Chicago Engagement

The Chicago leg of the national tour of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang has been canceled. According to the website for the Chicago Theatre, where the show was to run February 11-15, the engagement was canceled “due to slower than expected local ticket sales.”

The musical, based on novel by famed James Bond author and creator Ian Fleming, as well as the beloved film adaptation, features the music and lyrics by Roger and Richard Sherman. It tells the story of the magical car that sails the seas and flies through the air, and its affect on the lives of its eccentric inventor, Caractacus Potts and his children.

The tour is currently playing the Schuster Center in Dayton, Ohio, with future stops including Houston, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Atlanta, and Orlando.
