Tyne Daly returns to Broadway as Maria Callas in Master Class. She starred as Mama Rose in the Broadway revival of Gypsy, for which she won a Tony Award Best for Leading Actress in a Musical. Daly's other Broadway roles include Nat (The Rabbit Hole), Madame Arkadina (The Seagull), and Josie (That Summer - That Fall). Daly is best known for her portrayal of Detective Mary Beth Lacey on television series Cagney and Lacey; the role garnered her 4 Emmys for Outstanding Lead Actress in a drama. Her film credits include The Enforcer, starring Clint Eastwood, John and Mary with Dustin Hoffman, and Play it as it Lays with Tuesday Weld. She was born Ellen Tyne Daly and is the daughter of Broadway star James Daly and the sister of actor Tim Daly.
