Nancy Opal is a long time Broadway performer who made her Broadway debut in Evita in 1979 as an understudy and eventual replacement for Patti Lupone. Opal's career has taken her all across the globe, but her recent and most memorable credits include The Toxic Avenger (which earned her Drama Desk, Drama League, Outer Critics, and Lortel nominations), The Drowsy Chaperone National Tour, Arthur Laurents' Gypsy at City Center with Patti Lupone, the original Broadway cast of Sunday in the Park with George, and Urinetown, for which she won the Tony for her portrayal of Miss Penelope Pennywise. Television credits include The Big C and the entire Law & Order catalog. Opal is also a singing and acting coach.
