She won the 1972 Academy Award for Best Actress when she played Sally Bowles in the Bob Fosse film, Cabaret. She got an Emmy for her 1972 television special, Liza With a "Z." She has received three Tony Awards, two for best Actress in Flora, the Red Menace and The Act. She won a Special Tony for "Adding lustre to the Broadway Season" in 1974. She added a special Grammy Award to that list in 1990. In addition to Cabaret, Minnelli has appeared in numerous films including New York, New York and Arthur. In 2003, she was depicted by Stephanie J. Block in the Broadway show, The Boy From Oz, about Minnelli's first husband Peter Allen (played by Hugh Jackman). Minnelli tours widely around the world performing classic American standards and original songs written just for her.
