Lillias White made her Broadway debut as Joice Heth in Barnum.? She has since gone on to appear in some of Broadway's most beloved productions, including Chicago, Funny Girl, Hair, Cats and Dreamgirls as Effie.? In 1997, she received Tony, Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for her performance as Sonia in The Life.? White is currently starring in Fela!? Her off-Broadway credits include The Vagina Monologues, Dinah Was and Romance in Hard Times, for which she recieved an Obie Award.? Younger audiences may remember White from her Emmy Award-winning stint as Lillian Edwards on Sesame Street.? Her other screen credits include appearances in the television series Law and Order and NYPD Blue, and the films Pieces of April and Then She Found Me.
