Born just outside of Kiev, Ukraine, Karina Smirnoff is a World Champion professional dancer. Best known for her numberous appearances on ABC's Dancing with the Stars (recently opposite Steve Wozniak), Smirnoff has danced competitively with several partners including Paul Killick, Louis Van Amstel, Slavik Kryklyvyy, and Dmitri Timokhin. She served as a choreographer for the 2004 movie Shall We Dance starring Richard Gere and Jennifer Lopez. She made her Broadway debut in the summer of 2009 with Burn the Floor. Smirnoff holds a degree in economics from Fordham University. She is engaged to Dancing with the Stars and Burn the Floor co-star Maksim Chmerkovskiy.
