Joel Grey made his Broadway debut in Borscht Capades.? He is perhaps best known for his Tony Award-winning role as the Master of Ceremonies in Cabaret.? Grey also starred in the film version of the musical, winning BAFTA, Golden Globe, and Academy Awards for his performance, making him one of the few actors to win both a Tony and an Oscar for the stage and film versions of the same role.? His other Broadway credits include starring roles in Chicago, Goodtime Charlie, George M!, and Wicked.? Grey is also a film and television veteran.? In addition to Cabaret, he has made appearances in films as varied as Dancer in the Dark, Kafka, Venus Rising, A Christmas Carol, as well as the film versions of the novel Choke and the musical The Fantasticks.? Grey is also in demand on television; he has guest-starred on the series Oz, Alias, The Muppet Show, Grey's Anatomy, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer, among many others.? He received an Emmy nomination for his guest turn on the show Brooklyn Bridge.
