Bio:
Born in Arkabutla, Mississippi, James earl Jones is best know for iconic deep bass which has given voice to Darth Vader from the Star Wars series. Other films include Dr. Strangelove, The Lion King, and The Great White Hope for which he was nominated for an Academy Award. Jones has been awarded two Tony Awards over his prolific stage career, first in 1969 for The Great White Hope and again in 1987 for Fences. Other Broadway credits include On Golden Pond, Othello and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. Jones recently won a special Drama Desk Award (his 6th Drama desk) for being "a commanding force on the stage for nearly half a century." In his youth, Jones attended the University of Michigan and trained in the Reserve Officer Training Corps. He is married to actress Cecilia Hart.
