Ernie Hudson's Broadway debut is in the Lincoln Center revival of Joe Turner's Come and Gone by August Wilson, a man whom Hudson befriended in his early acting days. Best known for film work, particularly Ghostbusters 1 and 2, Hudson has a number of regional theater credits to his name as well, including The Great White Hope, The Emperor Jones, Ceremonies in Dark Old Men, and Wilson's King Hedley II. His other movies include Pastor Brown, Dragonball Evolution, Miss Congeniality 1 and 2, The Crow, Congo, The Hand That Rocks the Cradle, Speechless, The Substitute, The Basketball Diaries, Airheads, Sugar Hill, No Escape, Leadbelly, and The Cowboy Way. Of his many TV roles over three decades, his best known is probably Warden Glynn in Oz. He also played Detective Ridley on Desperate Housewives and Jerry Close in St. Elsewhere.
