Donna Murphy is an award winning American actor who's career has seen her on stages and screens of all shapes and sizes. Her work on the stage has earned her two Tony Awards, several Drama Desk and Drama League Awards, multiple original cast album recordings, and a spectacular reputation. Murphy made her Broadway debut in They're Playing Our Song and won her first of two Tony Awards for her creation and portrayal of Fosca in Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's Passion. Murphy's second Tony Award was for her portrayal of Ms. Anna in the 1996 Broadway revival of The King and?I. Other well known theatrical credits include Edwin Drood in The Mystery of Edwin Drood, LoveMusik, Hello Again, Song of Singapore, and the Broadway revival of Wonderful Town. Murphy's film and television career has also earned her great recognition and has included appearances on television shows such as Law & Order, Ally McBeal, and The Practice, while her film credits including Spiderman 2, Center Stage,?Star Trek: Insurrection, and her recent vocal appearance in the Disney animated film Tangled. Murphy studied acting at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts and with the renowned Stella Adler.
