BIO
Carolyn was born in Midland, Texas and holds a B.F.A. from Williams College as well as an M.F.A. from the American Conservatory Theatre in San Francisco. She is married to Byron Jennings. They appeared together on screen in the film A Simple Twist of Fate in 1994. Carolyn made her film debut in Wolfgang Peterson's Enemy Mine with Dennis Quaid, which was followed by numerous appearances in film and on television. Her first notable television role was as Assistant District Attorney Rita Fiore in the series Spenser for Hire. This was followed by roles in Star Trek: The Next Generation, as the holodeck simulation 'Minuet', and the role she became perhaps best known for, Dr. Elizabeth Olivet, in the Law and Order series. Her vocal talents can be heard on many voice books and documentaries. In addition to her work in regional theatre, including The Father and Hidden Gables at the Geffen, Uncle Vanya at the Old Globe and The Greeks and Present Laughter in Williamstown, she has appeared on Broadway in The Dinner Party, Private Lives and Equus.
