Prior to his current role as the lead in Shrek, The Musical, Brian D'Arcy James most recently starred in the Roundabout Theater's Broadway production of The Apple Tree with Kristen Chenoweth. In addition, he was also seen on Broadway in The Lieutenant of Inishmore, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels and Sweet Smell of Success. James has been nominated for a number of performances, including a Tony Award nomination for Best Featured Actor in a Musical (Sweet Smell of Success) and a Drama Desk Award nomination for Outstanding Actor in a Musical (Sweet Smell of Success). James is married to fellow actor Jennifer Prescott.
