Her numerous Broadway credits include Annie Get Your Gun, Into the Woods, Sunday in the Park With George, The Goodbye Girl, and Gypsy. Peters has also appeared on screen, with guest-starring roles in such television series as Ugly Betty, Grey's Anatomy, and Ally McBeal, among many others. She is also an acclaimed recording artist, with multiple Grammy Award nominations to her credit. Peters has also received two Tony Awards for her stage work. She also won a Golden Globe Award for her performance in the film Pennies in Heaven. Peters is also an avid philanthropist; she maintains an ongoing partnership with animal shelter charity Broadway Barks.
