Bartlett Sher Information
Bio:
A native of San Francisco, California, Bartlett Sher has served as the Artistic Director at Seattle's Intiman Theatre since 2000. There he directed the World Premiere of Craig Lucas' plays Prayer for My Enemy and Singing Forest, as well as the World Premiere of The Light in the Piazza, which won him a Tony nomination when it transferred to Lincoln Center in 2005. He then directed the Tony-winning revival of Awake and Sing! in 2006 and went on to win the Tony and Drama Desk awards for Best Direction of a Musical for the 2008 Lincoln Center Revival of South Pacific. Sher additionally has directed The Barber of Seville at the Metropolitan Opera and Mourning Becomes Electra at Seattle Opera and New York City Opera and is a member of the TCG Board.
