Born in Berlin, Germany, but raised stateside, by the age of 28 Audra McDonald was already a three-time Tony Award-winning actress for her work in Carousel, Master Class, and Ragtime. She picked up her fourth Tony Award for A Raisin in the Sun in 2004. McDonald made her Broadway debut in the early 90s in A Secret Garden. Since then her Broadway credits include, Marie Christine, Henry IV, and, most recently, 110 in the Shade. She frequently appears as Dr, Naomi Bennett on the television series Private Practice.
