BIO

Alexander Gemignani made his Broadway debut in the revival of Assasins which earned him a Theatre World Award for outstanding Broadway debut for his portrayal of John Hinckley. Since his debut, Gemignani has continued to grace the stage with such credits as Boatman and Dennis in the revival of Sunday in the Park with George, Valjean in the revival of Les Miserables, The Beadle in the revival of Sweeney Todd, and Stewpot in the highly praised recent Lincoln Center production of South Pacific, for which he also recorded the televised PBS Special. Gemignani's Off-Broadway credits include Road Show at The Public and Brian in Avenue Q at The Vineyard, and his many regional credits include Andrei in Sarah Ruhl's world premiere adaptation of Chekhov's The Three Sisters at Cincinnati Playhouse, and Sweeney Todd in the 2007 National Tour of Sweeney Todd. In addition to being an accomplished stage actor, Gemignani has also appeared in many concerts at venues such as New York's City Center, the Hollywood Bowl, New York's Town Hall, and with The New York Philharmonic at Avery Fisher Hall. Gemignani is also a faculty member with NYU's CAP21 program.
